Our School The first K-12 authorized IB World School in the Arabian Gulf, ABA is a private, non-profit, English language co-educational day school that offers an academically rigorous K-12 IB curriculum to expatriate as well as a percentage of local students in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman. With 75 different countries represented in a community of 1000 students (219 in Grades 9-12), ABA promotes academic excellence within a context of intercultural understanding and respect. ABA draws experienced teachers to teach challenging courses and provide a supportive international learning environment for students. The 106 academic staff members at ABA represent 28 nations. All teachers at ABA hold at least a Bachelor’s degree; 51% have Masters degrees, and 5% hold Doctoral degrees. In addition to the academics, we offer a varied extra-curricular programme which includes sports, visual and performing arts as well as service opportunities. Accreditation ABA is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) as well as the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA). As an International Baccalaureate World Continuum School, ABA is authorized to offer the IB Primary Years Program (Grades K-5), the IB Middle Years Program (Grades 6-10) and the IB Diploma Program (Grades 11-12).
